Personal Statement: Jeffries Brantley Jr.
From the moment I first played football at nine, the field became my second home. Football has been my passion, shaping my discipline, teamwork, and resilience. As I approach high school graduation, I am more committed than ever to pursuing my dream of playing college football and beyond. Over the years, I have spent countless hours refining my skills, learning the game’s nuances, and building strong relationships with teammates and coaches. This dedication has taught me perseverance, leadership, and strategic thinking—qualities essential on and off the field. Football has also sparked my interest in the business side of sports, inspiring me to pursue a degree in Sports Administration or Business Administration. However, my academic journey has had challenges. My GPA was less than stellar due to my immature approach to academics. I now recognize that education is just as critical as athletics, especially for competing at the collegiate level and preparing for a future in sports management. This realization has transformed me. In my senior year, I have refocused, balancing academics and football with the goal of achieving a 3.2 GPA or higher. By improving my grades and taking on leadership roles within my team, I have grown as a person and a student-athlete. I look forward to combining my passion for football and business to contribute to the success of sports organizations and my future college community. Thank you for your consideration. I am excited about the opportunity to represent your institution in the class of 2025.
