My name is Zebedee McLaurin VI, I am a 5' 11", 170 lbs cornerback who runs a 4.48s 40 yard dash and a 4.33s 5-10-5 shuttle. My senior season just ended in historic fashion, I led our team to its first Conference Championship (Chicago Catholic League Red Conference) since 1945. I was named to First Team League Honors with season stats 41 tackles, 4 blocked punts, 3 forced fumbles, and literally shut down every WR faced (0 complete passes against me in man coverage all season). Other important accomplishments include being named team MVP freshman year; captain of the junior varsity team, finishing second in our conference, and playing in the first play-off game in school history my sophomore year; starting on varsity as a junior, finishing amongst the team leaders in tackles, and being named to the All Chicago Catholic Team. I am a two sport varsity athlete, an important member of my school's track team. I helped lead us to the Chicago Catholic League Championship last season and recorded the tenth fastest time in the 200m amongst all sophomores in the State of Illinois.

I contribute leadership, confidence, and identity to my team's success. I offer leadership on and off the field through my actions, I help those that have fallen down get back on their feet and help guide my younger teammates through tough situations. As a defensive back, confidence is a must, if something goes wrong you must forget about it and move on because if you keep thinking about it, the mistakes will build on top of each other. Our team personality begins and ends with me, I provide the emotion and philosophy for each game and ensure a total TEAM EFFORT.

I am interested in pursuing my football career at the college level. I hope to attend a school with a great academic record that will challenge both my intellectual and athletic ability, with plans to major in business, engineering, sociology, or psychology. I have experienced academic success throughout my career posting honor roll grades and achieving standardized test score eligibility (25 ACT score June, 2012).  My goal is to be known as an impact player and play at the highest competitive level as early as possible.
