Personal Statement

Dear Coaches, My name is Nathaniel Johnson and I reside in Geneseo, Illinois; home of the Green Machine Football program with 49 straight years of winning seasons. This tradition of excellence along with great coaching has helped to mold me to become a better student and a better athlete. I am self motivated, honest, hardworking, and goal oriented. As a well rounded student athlete, I have been involved in football, wrestling, track, and Tae Kwon Do since the age of 8 years old. While receiving a good education is very important to my success in life, my passion is playing football. As a football player, I am versatile in many positions both on defense and on offense, put me where you need me and I will make plays. I specialize in playing outside linebacker, fullback and special teams. The past few summers I have had the opportunity to attend the Tim Dwight, Iowa Hawkeye, Don Beebe's House of Speed and Chicago Bears Football camps. During the Chicago Bears Football Camp, out of 250 participants, I was 1 of only 15 players chosen to receive the honor of making the Gridiron Elite Team for the fullback position. As a wrestler, I qualified for the AAU State Wrestling Championships. During track season my 4 X 100 relay team broke the school record which helped us qualify for the state track meet. At 11 years of age, I received my 1st degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. I also received the Presidential Physical Fitness Award 6 straight times. As a student, I will work hard to maintain good grades and I will pay respect to my teachers, my school, and my fellow students. As a football athlete I can be counted on, I will give you everything I have and more, I am versatile in all positions and I make plays; I want to play football and I want to win! Through hard work with integrity, I am determined to achieve my personal goal of a higher education while playing football at the collegiate level. Nathaniel Johnson #35

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
