I intend to get a college degree and experience all the life lessons that college has to offer. I have never been the best student but I really like learning and I find so many topics interesting. Being in a football program will help motivate me to stay on track in my studies and get my degree. I will work for every opportunity so I can run my own business and do something that really satisfies me but also helps others. I don’t need to be just rich in money but I want my whole life to be rich.
I love to be part of a team, I am happiest during football season. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to work with my teammates and strive to be our best - together. That really matters to me - working together and helping each other and being kind, no matter our differences.
I am very coachable as a football player. I have so much to learn and I really want to learn it because I know how great I can become. It’s like I’m just getting started - I hardly played at all during my fresh-soph years because I didn’t get the game too well and of course covId. This last year as a junior it just all started to click in my head and I played about every minute of every game and I was trying to absorb and implement everything my coaches were telling me and all I was learning on the field. It was a great feeling to finally be successful at this sport I love and now I am really hungry for more of that. I want to keep playing football and I want to be part of a competitive team so I can feel what it’s like to win!
I started the game only when I moved up here when I was in the 8th grade. I never even watched football. I lived on the tiny Caribbean island of Nevis where there were more monkeys than people. Running was what I did as a kid - I trained so hard even from kindergarten and was really successful at it. Running is really important in the islands.
It was a really great place to grow up - we lived very simply and spent all our free time on the beach or on the mountain. That’s where my dad is from and I have lots of family there now. I miss it a lot but I am glad my mom said we had to come up here to get an education and opportunities. It took me a long time to figure out the school system and get caught up but I think I am finally getting the hang of it and school is becoming easier for me and I understand how important it is for me to have all the doors open for me down the road.
