I have been playing football since I was six years old. It has always been my dream to play football at the collegiate level and earn a degree in a computer related field. I've always been able to learn things quickly when it comes to football and am flexible in the positions that I can play both offensively and defensively. In addition I am always looking for ways to make myself better. I have recently taken the SAT and expect to post a solid score. In addition I've grown physically every year both in stature and my physical skills and still have a lot of room to get better. Last year our team was expected to do well but we faded toward the end of the season and just missed making the playoffs. Going in to my senior season I am motivated to make good on our potential from last season and as a player who has been a starter throughout my high school career I plan on showing more leadership through example to help my team achieve its goal of competing for a conference and state championship. I am also motivated to perform well in football and in school for another important reason. My mother suffers from multiple sclerosis and over the last year she has been very ill. A couple of months ago she had a life threatening surgical procedure done and her recovery has been very painful for her and hard to deal with. It makes me realize that life is short and I can't take anything for granted. I want to perform well in all phases of my life because I know doing so will give honor to her for everything she is going through. The biggest gift that I can give to her is to do everything that I can to maximize my potential. My experience in helping my mother try to recover has taught me how to deal with adversity. The college that I choose to attend will get a competitive, goal oriented player both on and off the field.
