I began wrestling at the age of 7 and enjoyed the sport and it’s competitive nature. I was fortunate to have a lot of success without really knowing what I was doing. What I did know is I wanted to win. At age 11, I had my toughest year. I lost half my matches and didn’t make it to state. On top of that, I was two and out at Nationals. I began to sink into a negative mindset about the sport and told my dad I didn’t want to wrestle anymore. After a long conversation with my dad about what I need to do to be successful, I realized that I didn’t want to quit, I was just tired of losing. I love the sport and I just wanted to improve and work hard to be the best. I understood at that moment that if I wanted to be on the big stage, I would need to put extra work and time into wrestling.
I am a student of the sport and love helping and teaching my teammates. I am very coachable and eager to learn. I am looking for the right coaching staff and program to help me become an All American. This upcoming season I’m working to be a state champion and continue with my excellence in the classroom trying to maintain a 3.8 or higher GPA. This past year I placed in every tournament including winning my conference championship and regional as well as qualifying for state. In addition, I placed 2nd at the Illinois Freestyle State and won the Central Plains Greco-Roman Regional tournament.
