Starting at the Varsity level as a freshman has been the highlight of my football career. But, my sophomore year was the year that I grew the most, not just as an athlete but as a person as well. During my sophomore year, we had a first year quarterback come into the new role, and it was a struggle to get anything clicking that year. That year made me find new roles to where I could be the best teammate/person I could. It made me humble and a supportive player.
I was able to have the chance to show my talents early on, but it definitely didn’t come easy. I learned how important it was to keep your body in shape and treat it well. I also learned that being a team player, supportive of my team mates and displaying leadership is very important. Not only on the field but in the classroom as well, it may be a struggle sometimes but with a little time and effort you can make it through. I know that I have what it takes to be a good student-athlete.
