I have been playing golf for almost 2 years. Last summer is when I started playing in a lot of tournaments. I played in several with the Junior PGA, and a few others. I competed as an individual in the Junior High Sectionals in September 2019. I placed 6th in sectionals with a score of 84 and advanced to State. In state I got 7th with a 76. It was such a great experience being able to play in sectionals and state. I learned alot about staying strong mentally, and I am still working on that today.
I have also competed in some Gateway Junior PGA tournaments, and won one with a score of 79, and placed at a few others. I saw my game improve tremendously over the summer of 2019, because of all the hard work I put in and the great coaching I had.
I have a great coach in Dany Baker. He helped me stay mentally strong during the State competition, and without him I probably wouldn't have done as well as I did.
In academics I try hard to be at the top of my class in every subject. I have won top 5 in several classes in the past and I hope to do that again this year.
I have a younger sister that loves to play softball. I enjoy watching her at her games, and she comes to cheer me on at some of my tournaments. I enjoy spending time with her at home, and I love going on vacations with her and my parents. My mom and dad make sure I have what I need to do well in sports and school.
We go to a great church in Vandalia, and my sister and I got baptized there in 2017. I help twice a month in the Adventureland for kids in our church. I am also working to become and Eagle Scout and I hope to be one within the next 2 years.
I will be joining the Vandalia High School Golf team next year. I hope to do well there, and I will try hard to make it to State again.
