Hi. My name is Adam Greene. I am a senior and was the starting Varsity Placekicker for Broadneck High School for 4 years. In November 2012, I committed to play football for the University of Maryland.
In October 2012, I set a new Maryland State Record (MPSSAA) for career field goals (27 - the old state record was 24). I set several other new school records, including career field goals and total point scoring for a kicker. I also won the 2012 Wendy's High School Heisman Award for the State of Maryland. In 2012, I kicked off the ground for all my field goals and extra points. 85% of my kickoffs were Touchbacks (41 of 48 kickoffs). My average kickoff distance in the 2012 season was 67 yards. I have had the honor to be the Maryland All State First Team Consensus Placekicker for two consecutive years, 2011 and 2012. I was honored and proud to be a Team Captain for 2012. In 2011, I broke the existing county distance field goal record with a 55 yard kick. I also made a 50 yard field goal, the second longest field goal made in a game in Anne Arundel County. My average snap-to-kick time was 1.2 seconds with the best time being 1.168 seconds. I have been recognized as the Maryland All-State First Team Kicker (both Consensus and Big Schools), All-Met First Team, All County First Team and an All-League First Team placekicker and also as an Elite Eight Offensive player in Anne Arundel County.
I am proud to be a scholar-athlete with a weighted GPA of 4.5 and won a Scholar Athlete Scholarship from the National Football Foundation (Baltimore Chapter). Academics are extremely important to me in addition to my team’s success. I challenge myself with AP and Honors classes and was a National Honor Society officer.
Teachers and coaches view me as a leader on and off the field, giving me much responsibility based on my leadership, honesty, reliability, and integrity. I am known for my outstanding work ethic, performance and coachability as both a student and kicker. I practice and train year round and participate in all team events. I am a highly focused and determined scholar athlete and am confident that I can meet the challenges and demands of college athletics.
Community service and being a positive role model are also key components in my life. I am honored to be a 5-time recipient of the prestigious Carson Scholarship which recognizes academic excellence and community service. It is important to me to help others. I tutor students in Math and Spanish, am a mentor for young kickers, and assist in many charitable events through my church and community.
