Personal Statement

I am currently a junior, class of 2021, at Catoctin High School. I have competed on the varsity football team for two years and the varsity wrestling team for three years. This past season I was a captain and starting quarterback for my school's football team, leading them to a 1A Maryland state title and a 13-1 record. It has always been my dream to play football at the college level. I am not only searching for a school where I can excel on the field but academically as well. Finding a place where I can play competitive college football and receive a high quality education is my focus during the recruiting process.

During the 2019 season, I passed for 1,924 yards, with a 103/177 or 58.2 completion percentage. I passed for 19 touchdowns, rushed for two, and averaged 10.9 yards per completion. I received 2nd team All-County and was among the top twenty quarterbacks in the state for passing yards, completions percentage, and average yards per completion.

When it comes to choosing the right college for me, academics play an essential role. Throughout my high school career I have maintained an unweighted 3.96 GPA while taking honors and college level courses. I am a member of the National Honor Society and the Math Honor Society. My dream is to attend a prestigious academic school in order to prepare myself for a future in the sports medicine field while playing competitive college football.

Whatever school I end up attending will receive the best version of myself. Whether it is on the field or in the classroom I will strive to improve as a student, athlete, teammate, and friend every day.
