My name is Thomas Zine, and I live in Falmouth, MA. I'm part of the 2021 class at UCT High School in Bourne, MA
I play quarterback for the UCT Rams. The offensive scheme I played in was a run heavy offense, but I made the most of my opportunities. As a Sophomore and Junior, I was the varsity starter. I threw for over 1000 yards, with 14 touchdown passes, a running TD, and two 2 point conversions. I played under center and in the shotgun. Throughout the season, I implemented key audibles, changing the play at the line of scrimmage to help out our run game. As QB, I led our team to the playoffs 2 years in a row, and a bowl birth.
Occasionally, I lined up at the WR and TE positions on offense, based on situation and weekly scheme. Defensively, depending on personnel and need, I played OLB and DE. I also took practice reps at the Safety position, in case our starter got injured.
I am a hybrid player utilized in multiple situations and schemes, depending on what the coach was trying to exploit against weekly opponents. My versatility and football IQ work cohesively to form quick decision processing, which is one of my strengths. I can respond quickly to different situations and playing different positions. This would allow you to utilize me in various roles on your team.
I am also a multisport athlete. I played youth football, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, baseball and hockey. I was an all star youth baseball player at the catcher position. At the age of 4 -15years of age, I played hockey at a high level on different travel teams. Again, just like in football, I was utilized at multiple positions based on the teams needs. At the start of my HS career, I played basketball instead of hockey, to work on my footwork to help with QB position. The past couple of seasons, I dedicated my time in the off season, working with QB coaches and attending football camps.
At my high school, I have earned honors and top honor certificates each semester. I have previously taken High Honor courses in math, and will be enrolled in both High Honors math and science this Fall. I have maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout my academic career. I was selected to participate in Skills USA. Presently, I am enrolled in the Dual Enrollment Program, taking college level courses. I am currently taking an accelerated summer college course in mathematics. Due to my academic achievements at UCT high school, I was selected for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars.
