*Please note that I have decided to do a post-graduate year at an independent school so that I can be as well prepared as possible for the rigors of being a student-athlete at the college level. *
Team sports have taught me what it’s like to be a part of something bigger than myself. I feel that I’ve learned the most from playing football. I’ve always been taller, bigger than other kids my age. The youth football league I played in had a weight restriction for the skill positions. Therefore, I was destined to play offensive line (even though my dream at the time was to play tight end). Being part of the O-line is like being in a family. We do everything together. We have a real bond. We push each other to be the best we can be.
The discipline and work-ethic I’ve learned from football has carried over into the classroom as well. It has helped me overcome ADD/ADHD. It has also led me to my planned career. I plan to study Exercise Physiology so that I can better understand how the human body works, so that I can perform at my best, and so that one day I can help others achieve their goals too.
