Some people have a talent for singing/music, others for speaking/writing and others are artistic. But for me I have sports as my talent. I have been athletic since I can remember. I played three sports, baseball from age five until fourteen, basketball from age five until present and football from five to present. My athleticism came as a big surprise to me. I always thought I was just playing for fun, but I realized that my commitment and resiliency to sports has assisted me to form a strong ability and desire to conquer my dreams. Basketball and especially football has assisted me to become a leader with my peers and on the field during games. I have been able to utilize these skills in the community during outings with peers and school trips. I have also had the pleasure of participating in four national trips to Florida with my football teams prior to high school football and I have also went to Florida with my AAU basketball team for basketball nationals. This year (2019) my basketball team has the honor by invitation to go to the nationals in Puerto Rico.
I look at basketball and football as my passion, my outlet and my comfort zone, but my accomplishments of mastering these sports has helped me in the classroom as well. I have been able to utilize my resiliency and commitment to education as well as sports. I have utilized these skills to complete classroom and educational tasks. I have continued to be above average in most classes, and striving to be above average in all other classes daily. Loving sports has also assisted me with understanding what is needed to complete goals and lifelong dreams. I now know through my sports experiences that nothing is free and everything that is received is received through education, hard work, committed and resiliency.
