I've been an athlete since I was 4. There are few sports I haven't tried but football is my passion and has been since I played my first game when I was 7. I love competition, pushing myself to the limit and then pushing even harder. This drive allowed me to be a starter as a wide receiver, outside linebacker, and kicker (place kicker, punter and field goal). I also played tight end, safety, kick returner, and defensive end.
Academically, I work just as hard. I earned high school credits in middle school and I understand the importance of education. I want to keep sports in my life even throughout my career and I plan to have a career that brings the two together. I am still deciding between sports journalism or studying law to be a sports agent but I'm most looking forward to eventually coaching my own team.
When I'm not on the field I'm lifting weights or running drills. My athleticism doesn't stop at football. I'm a wrestler and currently the MYWAY 170lb state runner up. I am also the starting center for my AAU basketball team.
Football has taught me the most of any sport. I enjoy winning but take my losses and learn from them. Football is pushing through the pain, understanding that there are 11 teammates on the field and if even one of them doesn't do their job 100% you can't win. That it helps to be faster, stronger and bigger than your opponent but you have to be smarter and play with more passion. My biggest lesson has been that hard work catches up to talent and can easily out shine it. No matter how much comes naturally to you, you go out there every practice and game and you work harder than the guy standing next to you.
I look forward to my future. I hope to find a college that focuses on academics and athletics. That allows me to live my dream on the field while working toward my dream career.
