Personal Statement

Hello, I am Dalton Luke.  I’m currently a senior at Jefferson C -123 in Conception Junction, Missouri.  I'm a three sport athlete playing football, basketball and baseball.  I have received numerous post season honors.  I am blessed to play in a small community and have the opportunity to display my athletic ability, which may not have happened in a bigger school.  My love for football began when a friend introduced me to it  in fourth grade.  From the moment of the first hit, I was hooked and I couldn’t get enough of it.  I got addicted from that point on and I have been playing football ever since. I started playing eleven man Bantam football as a 4th grader and then transitioned into eight man football in high school.  Another thing that I am very passionate about is weightlifting.  I have been weightlifting since my seventh grade year.  One obstacle that I faced my freshman year was a back injury.  I had to sit out most of that year, but it drove me to get back on the field even though half of the season was over. When I got back on the field after that injury and got to go hit, it was like playing football for the first time again.  I fell in love with the sport all over again.

Living on a farm my whole life, I have picked up certain skills.  One of those skills is with animals.  I love animals big and small.  I plan on attending a college with a pre-vet program.  People tell me that I’m able to communicate with animals on a completely different level than most.  I would like to become a vet and come back and contribute to my community.

I am active in FFA, 4-H, and my local Catholic Youth Organization.   I love to hunt and fish as well as participate in community activities.   I was taught at a very young age to work hard and give it 110% in everything I do.

No matter what I do on or off the field, I am confident if I work hard and never give up that anything is possible.
