I want the opportunity to play football at the college level and position myself for a successful career and life after football. I envision myself doing something in the criminal justice field. Right now, I would like that path to include law school and then application to places like the FBI. I've been very lucky to grow up around athletics my whole life and they have always been a big part of my family and I want that to continue. My Dad, Brian, was part of 2 National Championship teams at Nebraska in 1994 and 1995 with Coach Osborne. He also was an Academic All-American, started for Nebraska at fullback in front of Ahman Green, played in the Hula Bowl for Coach Lou Holtz, and signed as a free agent with the Carolina Panthers in 1997 before retiring due to an injury. I also have several other immediate family members that have played college football at the division 1 level. I guess you could say that it is in my blood to play this game and be good. I started playing late, but I know I have what it takes to be successful. I know how to work hard, set goals, and I will attain them, both in football and in life. I have about 12 months before I step foot on a college campus. I plan on playing fullback and linebacker for my Senior season and playing at 210 lbs. By the time I arrive on campus, I will be 225 lbs and ready to play like what my Dad calls an "old school" fullback. Until then, I'll be getting better every day by working hard in school, the weight room, and all of my other activities.
As an update, we finished the year as State Runner Up. We made it to the finals for the 2nd consecutive year. Unfortunately, we came up short, but playing 13 games each of the last 2 years and getting to the finals in each season has been a great experience. I feel like I had a really good season and High School career. I definitely improved a lot from my Jr. Season. My coaches have definitely prepared me for the next level and I'm looking forward to that challenge.
