My name is Christian Jelinek but my teammates call me Jelly!
My passions include God, family and football! I have been playing football since age nine. One thing I enjoy most about football is making the big hit and improving my knowledge of the game!
In sixth grade I started training at a local gym called Fast Forward to help reduce my chances of injury while playing football. I also wanted to learn how to train to be my best -- best at my sport as well as best in my life. At Fast Forward I met a very inspirational man, Daryl, the owner. He had a great impact on me because although he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis that did not deter him from making his dream of opening a gym come true. Daryl not only trained young athletes to become better and healthier, he also helped dozens of local MS patients regain life by helping them train their bodies to get their life back. Watching him and his patients train and overcome great obstacles every day gave me continued inspiration to push myself to make me a better person and athlete.
Throughout my teen years I have learned a great deal about nutrition. I am a very goal oriented person and I believe in putting the best fuel in my body to help it run efficiently. In addition to maintaining a healthy, well-balanced, high protein diet, I also love to train in the gym. No matter if I'm at home, at school or out of town I am committed to healthy living and it always includes a proper balance of good nutrition, and proper weight and sport specific training. Besides football, l I throw shot and discus on my HS track team making varsity in my Sophomore year. I am always working to improve my skills as well as training to get bigger, faster and stronger. I regularly train at the Warren Academy to work on position specific improvement.
I am currently a starter on the Defensive and Offensive Line for the varsity team at Millard South High School. This coming year will be my third year as starter on the D Line. I have participated and won the Dave Remington Lineman Camp the past two years in a row and plan on making it three this year. I have attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln's football camp for the past seven years, and have attended other in and out-of-state football camps over the past five years. I am excited to lead my team to big wins this coming season and always try to lead by example. I admire my coaches and am always willing to learn from them, and try to always do my best so that I am a positive reflection on all of their efforts. I am a hard worker, not afraid to push myself and will strive to be the hardest working recruit you will ever find.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the football field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud. I sincerely believe in my dream of becoming a collegiate level athlete and will do whatever it takes to get me there.
