Football has been a huge part of my life since I began playing flag football in 1st grade. My dad introduced me to the sport, being a huge NFL football fan. Since his passing in 2009, I have continued to put all that I can into my athletics, (football, basketball, and track) and academics in his honor. Sophomore year, after starting for the first time against a top 5 team, I tore my hamstring during the first quarter in only the 5th game of the season. This was a huge disappointment to me but I rebounded quickly with a successful track season and placing 3rd in state for the 4x400 relay and splitting 50.4 seconds. Going into this year, it meant everything to me to start the first game of my junior season against one of our biggest rivals, scoring on the 3rd play of the game. This season, we made it to the state semifinal, and lost by a touchdown to the state champion. From these sports, I’ve learned that I am very competitive, persistent and can motivate those around me to their potential. This being said, anything I do I like to try be the best at and put my work ethic into and I believe this is why I can be a great fit and help out on any team at the college level.
My academic goals for high school include acquiring AP Scholar with Distinction, (AP Scholar with Honors) and continuing to set an example as the president of the Spanish Honor Society at my school. I received a 32 on my June ACT exam and additionally, my plan as of now is to study engineering in college due to mathematics and science courses being my favorite subjects in school.
