Shane Hughes '23 Recruiting Profile

When my father tragically passed away in front of me when I was 9 years old, I was left feeling lost and with a void that I desperately craved to fill.  My mother eventually remarried and my step-father, a Marine Corps Combat Veteran, promised me that football would give me an outlet and change my life forever.  He was right.  Football became my release, my coaches became my mentors, and my teammates became my brothers.

A fire was lit underneath me to be the best I could be at the game that enriched my life so much on both a physical and emotional level. I learned to apply time management skills and focus in order to excel in both athletics and academics.  My passion and true love for the game continues to drive me to fulfill my goal of playing Offensive Lineman at the college level.
