Zachary Kovalovsky '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zachary Kovalovsky. I am a Senior (Class of 2012) at Bergen Catholic High School, Oradell, NJ. I am a kicker and Running Back. My kicking coach is Pat Sempier. He is the #1 kicking coach in New Jersey and hand picks the athletes he works with. I have been working with him prior to High School, as well as my 3 years in high school so far. I started Varsity as a freshman doing the kickoffs and Extra Points. Last Year, as a Junior I was ranked #15 in the state of New Jersey for kickoff's. I am a hard worker and try to kick 2-3 times a week in the off season and 4-5 during the season. I received my first varsity letter this year as a Junior and I am honored to wear my varsity jacket with pride. Geographic region dosen't mean a lot to me as far as choosing a school. I want to attend college in an enviroment with academic excellence, a nice/safe campus, and an opportunity in which I can play football. If I am qualified, I would be open to offers from D1AA,D2,or D3. My parents would be applying for the FAFSA so depending on financial aid I would be receiving would make a big impact on where I choose to attend college. I would like to major in something sports related with a scientific background such as exercise science, athletic training, physical therapy, or physical education. My Goal playing football in college is to be a team player and do what I can to make the team better. What ever that may be such as excellence in the classroom, being the starter, or kicking a game winning field goal. No matter where I choose to attend college I will wear my team/school colors with pride, dignity, and determination to get better at everything I do on and off the field. I am a well rounded student-athlete at an elite High School in the Nation. We are 34th in the nation for football, 2nd in the state, so I am used to handling pressure, media attention, and fierce competition. Since freshman year I have participated in 6 clubs/activities and have completed 60 hours community service and by the time I graduate I will have completed 100 hours. On my transcript, Freshman year my grade is low due to the fact that I missed a lot of school because of me having mono the first half of the year.
