I am a 15 year old rower and I am planning to row heavyweight in college. In my freshman year of rowing for Bergen Catholic High School, which was is my first year rowing., I started off learning to scull and primarily focusing on that. Later on in the season I had made the transition to sweep rowing. I had started out sweeping on port side but I have also raced on starboard side as well. So in sweeping I can row on both sides well. In the summer season I had made the transition back to sculling where I mainly have been racing in the double category. In the summer season I have been rowing for the Bergen County Rowing Academy where I have raced U17 as well as varsity this summer. Along with rowing intermediate as well once. I have also raced in a quad this summer along with the double. In the fall season I have raced in a quad as well as in a single. I raced a combination of varsity, Junior Varsity, and novice in the single. In the winter season so far I have been improving my erg scores and racing at indoor races. My collegiate goal is to row at a d1 school. What would make me a good candidate for a college team is that I am a very hard worker and I am very disciplined in the sport, as well as outside the sport. I also would make a good candidate because I like to challenge myself and the people I am rowing with in the boat to be better and to push ourselves.
