Alexander Schmidt '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'2", 260lb offensive linemen from Sewell, NJ. As a junior this year, I had the opportunity to be a starter for the Washington Township varsity team. I was the only non-senior starter on the offensive line. I played left guard this year but I have also played left tackle and defensive end.  Our team had a great season with a record of 7-4-0. We fought our way to the semi-final round of the South Jersey Group 4 State Championship game losing 42-41 after fighting back from a 35-7 deficit. I was a co-captain for my freshman team. Our team only lost one game that year. During my sophomore year, both my sophomore and JV teams went undefeated. I am a hard worker and it has always been my dream to play football in college. I am looking for a large sized university with a great football tradition. I want to find a place where I can make an impact on the team early on while balancing both the classroom and the field. It is very important to me that I complete my degree. I would like to explore schools that are within a few hours driving distance from my hometown so that my parents would be able to attend games.
