Jacob Powell '24 Recruiting Profile

I first stepped on a football field as a sophomore and I quickly took to the game, realizing I had a dream to play collegiate football. I have a goal of being a 3-4 year starter in college while also studying sports medicine, physical therapy, or an engineering variation. I want to bring a positive impact to a college program that suits my academic and atheletic interest.

What makes me a good candidate for any team is my intense desire and drive for success. In any aspect of my life I never give up and always give everything I have into my goals. I put in countless hours of work outside of mandatory practices in the weightroom, my yard, and my practice fields. I am extremely competitive and I hate losing more than anything so I strive to be the hardest working kid on the field or in the classroom at all times.

What makes me different from other recruits is my ability to lead by example and encourage my teammates. I cheer on and assist my teammates til the end no matter the outcome or situation which sets me apart from some atheletes that only care about themselves. While I out extreme amounts of time into my own craft, I also enjoy participating in helping my teammates and peers in achieving success as well. 

Another trait that sets me apart from the crowd is my ability to be coachable. I enjoy being taught by my coaches and I am excited to be able to continue to learn at the highest collegiate level I can achieve. 

Academically I have always been a gifted student as I participated in scholar programs throughout elementary school and have taken advanced courses throughout my middle and highschool career. I have taken numerous AP and IB courses and have maintained a 91+ GPA through my 3 years of highschool so far and achieving Honor Roll status. I also participate in my High School Wind Ensemble.

I play 3 Varsity sports including football, basketball and baseball. I am a dedicated athelete and work hard to help benefit and improve each team.
