Ernest Robertson '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ernest Robertson and I am a 6-foot, 170-pound rising junior from Bronx, New York. Following my sophomore season, I was voted captain of the Riverdale Country School varsity football team. I completed my first two season of offense with 36 receptions, over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns as a receiver. Defensively, I finished with 74 tackles, 12 interceptions, 2 fumbles caused, and 2 touchdowns, at the free safety and defensive back positions. I was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2014 as well as the Calvin Hill Scholar Athlete Award and Scholarship for my sophomore year, due to my work off the field and in the classroom. This award is given to an athlete who exemplifies the qualities of both the athletic and academic side of the school.

    Outside of football I am captain for indoor and outdoor track team for the seasons from Winter 2016 to end of spring season 2018. During my sophomore year I was awarded MVP, for both indoor and outdoor track and field.

Personally I believe that I am a very passionate person, when it comes to the things I love, who is driven by both success, and more importantly failure. I am a firm believer in the idea that without failure, there is no way to improve. Improvement on the day-to-day basis is extremely important, especially in a sport like football. I feel as though my passion and drive for the sport makes me a better player. I am also a leader. As a tri-sport captain, and a leader of extra-curriculars in and out of school, I believe my leadership skills would bring a unique and crucial part to any program.

    When I think about my future with football, I want to continue to do what I love; play football and learn. I love the game of football and I am hoping I can find a school where I can be pushed and thrive athletically and academically.
