To me, football has always been more than just a game, it's a brotherhood, a family, something you must approach with grit and put consistent effort into in order to grow and succeed. I've had a love for football from the moment I started playing catch with my dad in the backyard and would organize pickup flag football games with my friends on the field down the street. When I hold something dear to my heart, like a dream or a passion, I put 110% effort into making it a reality no matter how hard or long it takes. Now that I am planning for my future and reflect on my past, it has become clear to me that this mindset and determination is what allowed me to start in both the QB and MLB positions on the Varsity Football team halfway through my freshman year season (Covid Year). I also feel a great sense of gratitude for being selected as one of the Team Captains in my Junior and Senior season and being nominated as a finalist for football player of the week by Lower Hudson Valleys Journal News.
As a three-sport athlete playing baseball and competing in Alpine Ski racing in addition to football, along with my work ethic during my employment as a summer lifeguard, I take pride in my leadership, along with being focused and coachable. I have had to learn time management skills, allowing myself to be in the moment to amplify my performance development, but also embrace uncomfortable feedback. Every award or accomplishment whether it was on the field or off, has been through having the strength and courage preserver and become the best version of myself in all aspects of life.
Along with my athletics, I take my academics very seriously. After having a setback academically in my sophomore year, it is a top priority and goal of mine to show my best academic self Junior and Senior year. I am and have been enrolled in multiple AP and honors classes throughout my high school career, pushing myself to high standards.
I also always strive to help others, whether that's my teammates, family, classmates, or community, such as the time I’ve spent coaching kids at the junior baseball clinics or charitable work at our local food drive. I truly enjoy making others happy and living to their potential. One of my favorite quotes is “Every great story happened when someone decided not to give up”, which is why I am following my dream to play football at the college level and make an impact as a hard-working QB or Linebacker, continuing to do what I love.
