My name is Brady Hughes and it has been a life long dream of mine to play college football at the highest level possible. I have been committed to the sport of football since the age of 5 when I started playing Pop Warner flag football. After three years of flag I progressed to tackle and played through the midget level, forgoing playing modified in order to keep my skills at a peek level. I initially became a quarterback by default, having no other kid on the team that knew what all the other positions responsibilities were. After only one year playing quarterback I knew this was the position I was destined to play the rest of my career. I played Freshman and JV football at the private school I attended. At that time I also discovered speed and agility training which gave me an edge come game time. My newly acquired stamina allowed me to play both sides of the ball, as free safety and stay with my opponents after every play. For my Junior and Senior year I returned to my public high school. This was the right decision for me as was able to get more playing time. As a senior my coaches decided to have me only play QB. I was a team captain this year. I lead Section 2 in passing touchdowns, with 18 this year. We were able to knock off the number one seed, Schalmont, this year and we clinched the Reinfort Division Championship. We were also able to help Coach Vanderzee acquire his 200th career win. I was chosen as Section 2 Offensive MVP and overall team MVP. I was also selected to play in the Section 2 Expectional Senior Game. Most recently I was advised I will be representing RCS at the Capital District NFF Scholars dinner. This was a season like no other for RCS. Playing college football will enable me to demonstrate my leadership qualities for the betterment of the entire team and football program.
