My name is Stephen Carpenter, I am a rising Senior at St. Stephens High School, where I play ILB, MLB. Football is not just a sport it's a passion for me. I know of no better feeling than to be playing under the lights and laying a hit on someone. My dream is to become one of the best linebackers in my schools history, and then move on to coaching one day (preferably Defensive Coordinator, I'm just a defensive guy). Then I will be able to teach other young players like myself, my love for football and where it can take you. I will play and work my tail off for anyone who will take me. The greatest thing football has taught me is There are limitations in life, and those limitations are made to push you, to break through those limitations. I want this more than I can breath and I never waste a day that can be used to make me a better athlete or person because I'll never get that day back.
I also believe in a strong education. I'm proud to be a student at one of the top 25 high schools in North Carolina for academics and Silver Award Winner in academics from US News. SSHS is not only giving me a great education, it is giving me the opportunity through Adopt a Highway Program to help my community. As well as, allowing me to develop fellowship through the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). I have also lettered in track, and look forward to playing on the school's first lacrosse team my senior year.
