I am currently a senior at West Stokes High School in King, NC with a weighted GPA of 3.94. I earned 3 varsity letters in football, 1 varsity letter in wrestling and was a catcher/outfielder for the JV baseball team for two years. As of May 2020 I rank 5th on the list of all time strongest student athletes at West Stokes High School lifting 1,125 combined pounds for power clean, hang clean, incline bench, and bench press with a power index of 5.75. I am only the second sophomore to reach the 1,000 pound club in school history. I want to be a college student-athlete studying sports medicine with the goal of becoming a physical therapist and personal trainer.
In football I play linebacker and running back. When I step on the field I want to be the best player on the field at every position I am playing. In order to be the best I put in extra time. I am the first person in the weight room and the last person to leave. In addition to attending all practices each weekend I also run the stadium steps, do cone drills, and run sprints with a parachute belt. I also work year-round with a personal trainer to improve my conditioning and strength. I am a student of football. Throughout the year I study game film for my team, our competitors, college and professionals to improve both my play on the field and my knowledge of the game.
Because of my work ethic my coaches and teammates look to me as a leader. I am hardworking and do not let adversity keep me from reaching my goals. Since COVID hit I’ve continued to work out becoming leaner, faster and stronger. Each day is spent doing an hour lifting weights and 1-2 hours of cardio. In addition, I’ve added yoga to increase my flexibility and meditation to improve my focus. At the request of my teammates I have developed individualized plans to help them improve their strength and conditioning this summer since summer training was delayed and reduced.
