My name is Ivan Leonard and I'm currently a freshman at Madison High School in Marshall, NC. I am a linebacker and quarterback, and I'm a major contributor on Special Teams on the football team. I'm a forward/mid-fielder on the Soccer team. I compete in club wrestling because Unicoi has no wrestling program, but in Middle School I wrestled for legendary Brandon Eagles and Hall of Fame Wrestling coach Russ Cozart. I believe these three sports make me a well-rounded athlete with the quick feet of a soccer player, the body control and aggression of a wrestler, and the power and speed of a football player.
I'm currently 6'0", 160 lbs, but my goal is to be 180lbs by the start of my sophomore year. I believe I can be well over 200 and up to 220 by my Senior year. I am projected to be between 6'2" and 6'4" tall based on my growth plates and family genetics.
I am the oldest in a blended family of 7 children. My mother was an NCAA Division II athlete having played soccer at King University in Bristol, TN, and my dad is a former NCAA Division II Football Player at Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, NC. My dad is a former US Army officer and instilled a belief in me that hard work, mental toughness and discipline are 90% of the recipe for success.
I look forward to speaking with you about how your program can help me grow, and how I can improve your program.
