I am a 5’6” 145 pound outside linebacker/defensive back on a 3-4 defense with a weighted GPA of 4.27 from Mt. Pleasant High School near Charlotte, North Carolina. My strongest physical attributes are my tackling abilities and coverage skills. I have competitive speed and am exceptionally strong for my size. My determination and passion for what I feel is the best sport in the world outweighs any size differential. I have been playing football now for nine years. I work very hard and always give it my all. I always show up to practice because I feel it is necessary to show up when the coach expects me and to be there with the goal of improving myself and helping my teammates. Also, I own a great passion to play college football. We have a rich tradition in my family for playing high school football, but no one has ever gone on to play college football. So my dream is to be the first in my family to play college football. To strengthen my skills, to help better my game, and to make myself more competitive, I have chosen to work with an additional personal trainer outside of high school athletics. This trainer also played my position for his own high school team and is preparing me with training to improve speed, strength, and flexibility, while also teaching me the fundamentals of overall health and wellness. What I can offer a team is an individual who knows the game in his head, who will do what he is taught and asked to do, who will always show respect to his coaches and teammates, who will be a team player, and will strive to succeed in the classroom as I have throughout high school. It is important to me to attend a university with a strong academic reputation because I desire to graduate with a high academic ranking. I plan to major in sports performance training or a similar sports related major. I prefer to go to a school in the southeast because it would be closer to home so my parents and brother can attend games more often. However, that does not mean I would rule out a college who does not specifically fit that criteria. I am interested in any division level, and it does not matter to me whether I play for a big or small school. Understandably, though, I prefer to play at the highest possible level. I would like to be given the opportunity to compete for a starting position and potentially win the job. I also want to mature into an impact player and to do my best to help the team reach its ultimate goals. I hope that you will consider me as a prospect for your football program. I sincerely want to play college football in the future.
