Rylee Howard '21 Recruiting Profile

Football has been in my life since I could stand. I was getting down in a three point stance, and new a comeback, and a go rout since I was 15 months old.  This sport that has molded me in so many ways, and has been my outlet where I can turn everything off and just do what feels natural to me.  There is not a moment when I am between the lines that I feel out of place, its home to me.  Not only is it where I feel most comfortable, but it is also where I have learned so many life lessons. 

One of the biggest lessons it has taught me is to never give up, no matter what the battle is in front of you, take it on full speed. I have never been the biggest on the field, however there has never been an opponent in front of me that had more heart or determination. This lesson on “DRIVE” has been huge through out my life, both on the playing field and in life.  After having some academic difficulty last year I have come back this year with over a 3.0 GPA. I sincerely believe that this is due to my never give up attitude.

Another lesson that I have learned is how to take criticism. One thing about sports is there is no shortage of criticism. Being around football has shown me that every time you fail, there is something that can be learned from that failure. I truly believe that in sports and in life those small failures will make you in to the best person you can be if you don’t let them drag you down.
