My post-secondary goals are to attend a university to receive a well-rounded education and learn accounting techniques to be successfully employed in the business field. In addition to academics, I am striving to develop into a top-quality quarterback and contribute to a college team. Outside the classroom and athletics, hunting and fishing develop and reinforce my character traits of patience, optimism, and determination. Time with family has become a priority because as I mature, I recognize the value of both quality and quantity with my relatives.
The business classes that I have enrolled in during high school made me aware of options for my future. Learning how to balance debits and credits is applicable in the real world since adults need to reconcile their bank statements to be financially stable. Projecting a positive attitude and building strong relationships with college professors will assist me in arranging a challenging internship before graduation. Upon achieving an accounting degree, I intend on focusing my job search on Business Management.
Conditioning and lifting is a crucial part of my athletic career. My intense work ethic has played a significant role as I add bodyweight from extra reps and proper nutrition. As a leader this past year, I demonstrated exercises in the weight room and served as a captain. Studying film highlights my relative strengths and weaknesses, so I know what I need to practice. I appreciate my influential quarterback coach for teaching me a quicker release and passing strategy. Transitioning to becoming a linebacker my sophomore year took hard work, especially after the adversity I went through when not being the quarterback. I look forward to listening and learning from my high school coaches, local personal trainer, and coaches from a variety of football clinics before reaching the next stage at the college level.
Volunteering is an essential component of my civically engaged life; I plan on seeking a football team and college that actively connects with others. Being elected into student council, I have participated in community service opportunities such as Penny-a-Week to buy Christmas presents for children. During our three-year church confirmation program, I was a helper in the nursery, an acolyte, and walked dogs at the local SPCA as a group project. For the last nine years, I have taken part in the Knights of Columbus Thanksgiving meal preparation and delivery; we were recognized on our local television station in 2017. Since being a sophomore, becoming a volunteer firefighter was helpful for me as well as I was able to be a part of fire calls in Schuylkill County.
