Personal Statement

My name is Jon Copeland and I played football at Argyle Liberty Christian my freshman, sophomore and junior year. In January I transferred to Argyle High School.  I’m 6' 190 lbs. but I have not finished growing yet. I’m 17 and my birthday is April 25, 2000. I’ve been playing tackle football at the QB position since I was 5yrs old. It is my passion and there is nothing I enjoy more.

Please take a look at my highlights as QB my Junior year and Receiver my Sophomore year. Also, see my stats bellow:

My freshman year I played QB on the JV team and corner on the varsity team. After QB, junior Nick Starkel (now at Texas A&M) broke his arm mid season, I got called up to start on the varsity. It was a great challenge and one I really enjoyed but also learned so much from.

In my 5 games as a freshman I obtained the following stats:

•Passing 66 of 122

•54% completion

•Threw 891 yds 6tds-8int

•Rushed 347 yds-3tds

•Total 1238 yds-11tds

My sophomore year Starkel was back to full strength and I was starting slot receiver and back up QB. I had 742 yards receiving, averaged 15 yards per catch and 8 touchdowns. I was blessed to receive 1st Team All District and All State Honorable Mention. This was my first year to ever play receiver.

This past season as a junior I was the starting QB and my stats were the following:

•Passing 175-296

•59.5% completion

•Threw 2382 yds-21tds-5int

•Rushing 678 yds-8tds

•Total 3061 yds-29tds
