Throughout the years, football has afforded me many great lessons, but my journey has only just begun. With ADHD, I grew up always questioning my abilities. I did not like being different. Although having the intellect, my organization and test-taking skills made it challenging for me to maintain the academic record I would have liked. However, once I found in my place on the football field, I realized how all of the different positions come together to make the team work, just like the ingredients to a recipe. Football continues to give me the confidence and grit to meet obstacles head-on knowing that, with hard work, anything is possible. Now, as a Varsity offensive lineman at Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas, I will continue that strong work ethic to show others that they, too, can accomplish their goals. There is beauty in our differences, and as a college recruit and beyond I plan to use my uniqueness to always do my part to add a little seasoning to the pot to put my team in the best position to win.
