Hello, my name is Wade Harper. I am 6'2, and I weigh 194lbs. Passion and determination are two words that have been used to describe me, especially in sports. I have played football for 7 years now, and basketball for 10 years. I also enjoy being a part of the varsity track team.
These sports have my heart, time and dedication, second to my relationship with Christ. In whatever I do, whether in word or in deed, I do it all for the glory of God so that others might accept Him. I give everything I have in all that I do. Sports are important to me, but so is making an impact on other people. I have started several bible studies at my school, and have been on many different mission trips where my main focus is to reach out and show love to those who need it, but don’t ever receive it.
I have played sports all my life... they have taught me a lot about hard work, teamwork, and overall being a better man. I am known by many to give 110% the whole game. My effort will never be the reason any team I play on loses. In football my sophomore season, I started on varsity as a running back, and ran for over 1,200 yards with over 20 touchdowns, I was voted 1st team all-district, and 2nd team all-state in the running back position. My junior year football season I scored 56 touchdowns, 7 receiving and 49 rushing. I have set a new school record with 2629 yards rushing and over 225 carries. That's an average of 11.7 yds per carry. I'm excited to say that I broke 6 school records that year and we had our best season ever in our school's history. My senior year has been amazing! Although our season was cut down due to COVID I was blessed to eclipse 5700 yds rushing and 110 TDs for my total high school career. During basketball season I played both post and wing. I averaged over 14 points and over 10 rebounds with a 50% shooting from the field and a 40% from the three point line. I have been named all district and all state in my sophomore and junior seasons. I joined the varsity track team as well. I throw the discus, and run the 100m, 200m and 4x200 relay for the track team where I posted personal records in the district meet which included 11.67 100 meter. I went to state my sophomore year, but our my junior year the season was canceled but I’m looking forward to track in my senior year.
My GPA has maintained at about 3.90 throughout high school. I currently have a 3.96 average and I'm hoping to improve upon that.
My relationship with Christ is the most important and essential part of my life. My ultimate goal is to represent Him and my family wherever I go with integrity. I know I talk about God a ton, but essentially that is the most important part of my life, and without Him, I wouldn't be where I am right now. Thank you for your interest in me. It’s and honor to be considered for your program. I Hope to hear from you soon. God bless!
