I’m a 5’10, 210 lb linebacker with ambitions of going to college to major in journalism and hope to someday write for Sports Illustrated. It has been my dream to play college football since I was eight years old. During my freshman season in Gainesville, Florida I was captain of the junior varsity team and midway through the season was placed on the varsity team to play linebacker. When I think about my biggest strengths I feel that I’m very determined, a quick learner, and adapt well to any challenge.
For example, I played lacrosse my freshman year for the first time and I received the “Defender of the Year” Award and lettered as a freshman. My weighted GPA as a freshman was a 3.5 and I took honors and AP classes. My sophomore year I finished with a 3.0. Due to certain circumstances my family decided it was best to move to Fort Worth, Texas where my dad got a better job. I’ve been at Fort Worth Country Day for two years. I started at middle linebacker on the junior varsity team my first year and had a great season. This season I will be starting linebacker on varsity. I am aware that I will not draw the attention of every single college with an athletic program and that is certainly not my intention. I just want to attract the one college that is the right fit for me academically and where I can be part of a team, on and off the field. I was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and lived in Gainesville, Florida for eight years and grew up watching the SEC. I’m a “Southern” boy so colleges located in the south would be my first choice, but certainly I am open to exploring schools nationwide. It is my belief that personal responsibility is the key to success and I try to live by that principle daily. I know my resilience and competitive nature, whether it’s studying for a test or learning a play, have made me a better person and helped me set a clear path for my life and career.
