Tyson Cornett '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'0" wide receiver/safety from Leon, TX. I have been a starter with the varsity team since my freshman year, and I have continued to be a strong leader and contributor each season since. In my junior year, I earned 1st team All-District at both positions and 1st team All-Brazos Valley safety. As a freshman, I was 2nd team All-District at safety and 1st team my sophomore year. Academically I have a 3.6 GPA and am ranked 6th in my class while also taking Dual Credit classes all 3 years of High School.

I am looking for a school in my region where I can find the right balance between athletics and academics. I am undecided on my major but I am leaning towards business or engineering, therefore I am interested in universities that offer strong programs in these fields. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team. I believe my best fit would be at the DII or DIII levels, although I will absolutely consider high academic NAIA opportunities.
