Hello, my name is Clayton Godwin. I am fifteen years old and currently a junior at Paradise High School. My collegiate goal is to play football for at a collegiate level. While in college I plan to achieve a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I aspire to play college football and win the National Championship with my teammates. My academic aspirations are to be successful in my classes and earn my degree with honors.
I am the best candidate for your team because I’m extremely committed to football! As a freshman in high school, I started on the varsity football team. I’m always pushing myself to improve my mental and physical toughness. As of today, I bench 270 lbs. I have improved my squat to 430 lbs. I’m always open to new ways to improve my skills in both athletics and academics. I know I have great potential to grow even more. I have a don’t quit attitude. For example, early in this season of football I broke my thumb in our first district game. As a lineman, hands are essential. This didn’t stop me. I continued to play with all my strength in a cast for the rest of the season. Most people would see the cast as a disadvantage to not be able to play my position to the fullest, but this did not hold me back because I have a never give up mentality. I’m told by many that for a kid of my stature, 6 foot 4 inches and 260 pounds, I’m really quick on my feet which makes me an asset to my team. Not only am I strong and fast but I have incredible endurance which allows me to play both offensive and defense when needed. In addition to the above qualities my coaches say that one of my best characteristics is that I am coachable. I have focus, determination, and respect for every aspect of the game.
I would appreciate the chance to be a part of your exceptional program. My desire is to be a leader on your team both on and off the field.
