I began playing football in 6th grade on a peewee football league. While I have always been large for my age, at that time I was also quite overweight. I’ve had to work extremely hard to become a fit athlete. With diet and football, I’ve gained muscle mass, coordination, and confidence.
What I bring to my team is my intelligence, physical courage, and effort. On the field, I’m the first one down on the line and always following the ball. This past year, the coaches had me running the play in to the huddle. I am a line leader and positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally during the rest of high school, I will strive to outwork my teammates and sacrifice for the good of the team. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with courtesy and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects on my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
