Personal Statement

Behind the jersey:

I’ve often been described as an “old soul.” No matter who you are, you’ll receive a firm handshake when I greet you, and you’ll always hear, “Yes, sir; No, sir,” from me. I give respect, and I expect respect. I welcome a challenge – my biggest competitor is myself – always trying to improve my catches, routes, footwork, and mindset. Life has taught me that accepting defeat and owning my mistakes is always a step in the direction for improvement.

I hope to pursue a football scholarship at a D1 college with a good science program specializing in chemical engineering or another related career. My biggest role model is Brock Bowers, who attends the University of Georgia with his own hopes of becoming one of the best tight ends in college level. My aspirations are to run out on a college football field that God will harness into a successful future and a possible career.

If any doubt arises, please ask for the contact information of my Pee Wee, junior high, or high school level coaches, and they will confirm all that I have stated. I consider myself a good candidate with many attributes to offer: young, hardworking, disciplined, fearless, and committed; I’m willing to be a leader but not a “one man show.” Most importantly, I’m willing to learn and be a team player – I despise individuality because it takes a team working together to succeed.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Auston English - Defensive End
  • 11/26/24 to 11/26/24
  • I worked one on one with former Oklahoma Sooner and Cleveland Browns Defensive End, Auston English. He provided extensive instruction on footwork and hand placement to improve myself against offensive linemen. He was very knowledgeable, and I feel I gained more from this mini camp than any other camp I've attended. I walked away with more confidence and additional skills that I look forward to improving on even further.
  • Camp/Event
  • Eric Morris Take Flight
  • 7/25/24 to 7/25/24
  • I was able to compare my abilities to athletes from 6A level schools where we worked on fundamentals of becoming a tight end.
  • Camp/Event
  • Hardin Simmons University TE/OL
  • 7/12/24 to 7/12/24
  • I was able to visit coaches in the area and learn their expectations for college level football.
  • Camp/Event
  • Air It Out
  • 6/17/24 to 6/18/24
  • This camp was lead by elite coaches ranging professional level to college level to military background. This two day camp focused on character development and athletic skills. I am most proud of the improvement on my footwork skills from this camp.
  • Camp/Event
  • Hardin Simmons Corral Skills Camp
  • 5/24/24 to 5/24/24
  • This camp gave me insight into college coaches’ expectations concerning character, academics, and athletic ability. I was also able to work in small groups with fellow campers on footwork, stance, get off and release, and catching drills.
  • Camp/Event
  • Eric Morris Football Camp
  • 7/27/23 to 7/27/23
  • This event gave me the opportunity to work closely with college level coaches allowing me to strengthen my skills as a tight end improving my footwork, creating separation, and maintaining balance and body control.
