Winning the division championship and getting the opportunity to be the starting quarterback in the state playoffs during my freshman season has been the highlight of my high school career. Losing in the playoffs has really pushed me to grow as a player, person, and student. The loss has helped me significantly to refocus and take this offseason seriously, both in training and academics, making sure I maintain a good GPA.
The biggest challenges I faced as the starter in my freshman year was taking on a leadership role, playing under pressure and the playbook. I got a hang of it once things started to get rolling and began to feel an elevated passion for the sport. The things that excite me most are the thrill of winning, the adrenaline, and the desire to play the sport at the next level. I learned a lot in losing; it pushes me and motivates me to be better and do better.
The things I have done to focus in this off-season include striving for an exceptional GPA, weight and quarterback training, participating in a select 7v7 League, and continually developing a good relationship with my teammates.
