Collegiate goals and aspirations: To get a college that excels in both football and academics.
What makes me a good candidate for their team: I believe in hard work. I believe in perseverance. This was the mindset that was drilled into me and my teammate’s minds by our coach, which he called “the fight”. The fight is waking up every morning with purpose. The fight is about not taking the easy way. The fight is not giving into the consistent desires to quit, to walk away from it all. The fight is giving your best effort, every play, every second of your life. I believe in the fight.
What makes me different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics: I also love tactics. From a young age, I have enjoyed sports and games involving strategy, especially chess. I went to dozens of chess tournaments in elementary school, and I loved learning new attacks and defensive strategies. My philosophy of chess can be summed up by my favorite philosopher, Sun Tzu, when he said in The Art of War: "Every battle is won before it is ever fought." I think this is also applicable to football, where weight training, practice and film study are what sow the seeds of victory.
