My name is Sam Lutz. I am currently a junior attending West Island College in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have been playing basketball since I was young and have always had a passion to play but as well, to learn and study the great players. Ever since I started playing I knew that I wanted to play in post secondary. What sets me apart from other players is my drive to better myself and my ability to lead. Being an incredibly competitive person I've always strived to be the best I can, putting in extra hours, getting to practice early and leaving late. Naturally I'm a very vocal person and use that to encourage and keep my teammates accountable for their actions. I've been playing in high level tournaments since I started club ball when I was eight. I have trained with top coaches for most of my life so Ive been exposed to what is needed to be successful. Attending a smaller, more academically focused school has been beneficial for my academics because I've been able to learn in a smaller environment where I can be more successful. Overall, my school has helped prepare me for the next jump to university because of the advanced courses offered.
