John Chapman '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5’11” 150 lb Shooting Guard from De Beque, CO. I have been playing basketball since I was 8. I have played on the Varsity basketball team for 4 years for a very small 1A school. Last year our team won the CO state 1A division with a 25-0 record and have a 13-0 record for the 19-20 season. I have been given the opportunity to step into a leadership role as the only returning senior this season. I believe coming from a small school will benefit any team I join. I have a working knowledge of every position on the floor as I have been asked to play nearly all of them at one time or another. I enjoy bringing the energy and pumping up the team. I also know the value of patience and working as a brotherhood to accomplish team goals.

I would like to play for a small to mid-sized school where I can find an appropriate balance between academics and athletics. I would like to get my associates degree in either a nursing or aviation program. Ideally, I would like to be able to make an impact on the team right away. I believe my best fit will be at the JR college level, but I will not rule out another good fit.
