Jordan Tanuvasa – 5’11” / 175lb / Point Guard / Punahou School
What makes me a good candidate for any team is my positive attitude and work ethic. As a point guard I believe I would be a good asset because of my leadership skills, composure, decision-making, court vision, and the ability to get my teammates involved.
My freshman year I was the starting point guard for the Varsity, Division 1 team and expected to take on a leadership role from the start. Our team went on to win our League and State Championship that year.
My sophomore year I was selected as captain and returned as the starting point guard. Our team finished third in the State that year.
My junior year I tore my ACL playing football in October 2013 and missed my junior season of basketball. This injury was a test to my character and work ethic, however I believe I rose to the challenge. It took consistent hard work and a positive attitude to get through this and it has definitely strengthened me both mentally and physically. In May 2014 I was back on the court.
Like basketball, I take my academics seriously. My academic goal is to acquire a degree that will serve me well beyond my playing days. I’m currently interested in studying Business Finance or Economics. Basketball has always been my passion and I will continue to work hard both on and off the court so that I can attend college and play at the collegiate level.
This summer I’ll be attending the following events:
1) 6/13/14 – 6/15/14: Kyle Smith’s (Elite) Basketball Camp at Columbia University (New York, NY)
2) 7/16/14 – 7/20/14: Double Pump Boys Best of Summer Tournament (Anaheim, CA) – Hawaii Select AAU Team
3) 7/24/14 – 7/27/14: Las Vegas Fab 48 (Las Vegas, NV) – Hawaii Select AAU Team
Thank you for your time, aloha.
