Keaka Kauhane '24 Recruiting Profile

Playing collegiate basketball has always been an inspiration for me.  I have been playing basketball since I was 4 years old.   Since the first day I stepped on the court I knew this was the game I'd like to excel at.  Playing college basketball will give me an opportunity of a lifetime. Growing up in the Hawaiian islands playing basketball here can be a challenge due to the lack of exposure.  Since the 4th grade every year until now my family has taken me off the islands to participate in the best tournaments, camps and exposure events across the U.S. to challenge me.

I am a 6'0 150 lbs point guard. I have strong ball handling skills, strong defense, mental toughness and high basketball IQ.  As a point guard I can make good decisions, share the ball, quarterback the offense and can score at all three levels.  I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates.  I  am coachable and strive to be a hard working player and one of the hardest working recruits you'll find. I work hard year round on my basketball skills participating in Select basketball, camps and additional training off the court.

Through my hard work and dedication I was selected as a sophomore 1st team All-Star KIF league 2022.  My junior season I followed up and earned an All League 2023 1st team All-Star and "Player of the Year".  I led the state in scoring average this past year and capped my junior season with an "All Hawaii State" 1st Team All-Star selection.   I am interested in being a point guard for your team and contributing to your team.  I value hard work on the court and in the classroom as I hold a 3.6 grade point average.  I am committed to being the best teammate and excelling in the classroom.
