My love for basketball
My freshman year is when I really found love for basketball. I missed so many shots when I first played which made me want to be better at basketball. I always wanted to make the basketball team my freshman year. I had just started playing basketball and wanted to try out. I was met with disappointment after getting cut from the team. I then worked out and practiced for next year and had the same outcome. But again I didn’t stop, I never gave up and every time I failed I wanted to try again. At this point in my life I realized my ability to keep trying no matter how many times I fail.
Then I tried again the third year and I moved schools before trying out. Then I tried to play at my new school and made the varsity team. It made me realize all the work I put in and how I finally overcame the challenge. After I made the team, I kept working hard and overcoming more challenges over time. This helped me become the person I never knew I could be. This strength helped me overcome my weaknesses and failures.
A weakness that I have is my patience. I would always struggle waiting for things to happen in my life. like when I had to wait 3 years to make a basketball team in high school. I didn’t realize this before, but when facing my weakness it gave me my strength to overcome failure. I would say this my strongest strength in my life. I never imagined I could take failure and keep trying because I was not always like this. There was a time in my life when I would just
give up and not try to overcome the challenges in my life. It took a big event in my life to change me. I'm glad I had this failure in my life because it made the person I am today.
