In college, I would like to excel on the court, in the classroom, and make my family proud. I feel like I'm an unique athlete, on the basketball court, where I mainly play point guard and shooting guard, but I'm versatile enough to play any position on the court. I'm very passionate about basketball because it allows me to play basketball with my friends, allows me to play at a competitive level, impress my family and coaches, and helps provide opportunities for me later in life. I am currently the starting point guard for my high school’s varsity basketball team. I currently attend Hampshire High School in Hampshire, Illinois. I am senior and will graduating this coming spring. I am straight A student in my high school’s accelerated college program. The program allows me to take all my classes at Elgin Community College and receive dual credit. I started the program my junior year, and when I graduate high school I will also graduate with my associates degree. I have been on the Super Honor Role since 6th grade, I have been on the Dean’s List the past to semesters at ECC, I received the presidential award, and I have never received a B at the end of a semester. I am also in National Honors Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. . I have received the Iron man award, all-tournament team in over 5 tournaments, I have been captain for two years. . I do soup kitchen at my Grandmother's church on Fridays regularly to give back to the community. I also am a volunteer basketball coach for Hampshire Jr. Whips and Illinois Magic. I am currently a speed and basketball trainer at Lifezone360 where I work out my clients weekly. This past summer I played for Mercury Elite where we competed at many NY2LA tournaments. In college I want to play basketball and keep A's in the classroom. After college, I want to start a family, still play basketball, and get a good job. I feel my strongest character traits are being a leader on and off the field and being a team player. I feel like I am a team player and I always try to look for an open man on the court. I feel like I'm a good leader and stand up for my teammates, I think work ethic is very important that’s why I go to speed and agility training and I'm the first in the gym and last to leave. I will never let sooner tell me I can’t do something. Growing up I was told I wasn’t a shooter or that I could never dunk. I worked hard and now I can dunk in off the dribble and catch a lob. Also, I am very good shooter and led my AAU team in scoring this summer. I'm very thankful for all the opportunities I have been given and I want to thank my parents for everything. Can’t wait to see what the future holds.
