Jack Rivas '21 Recruiting Profile

I first fell in love with the game of basketball when I was in first grade when the rims were eight feet high. I have played other travel sports like baseball, soccer, and volleyball, but my passion always takes me back to basketball. My basketball coaches have always recognized my leadership abilities on the court which is why I have been a captain on my team at every level. Through playing the sport of basketball I have found myself to be a natural born leader and somebody who works very well with other people and teammates. One of my biggest influences in building my character at a young age was my karate sensei who guided me to receive a junior blackbelt at age 11. 

My academic career has been one that I have always taken pride in. Throughout my childhood my parents have always stressed the importance of academics to me. Recently I have received the certificate of membership in the National Honors Society for Spanish as a sophomore. I fully intend to be a National Honors Society Student as a junior and senior. 

The one thing that my basketball coaches can tell you is that I work extremely hard at the game I love, whether it is in a game,  practice or a private workout. I intend to play this game for a very long time at a high level.
