Scoring 20 points a game is nice. But winning a game is much nicer. What I mean by that is I'm a team-first player. I'm not out there to pad my individual stats. I'm there to do whatever I can to make my team better... sometimes that's being the leading scorer. But a lot of times, it's creating opportunities for my teammates. Whatever the case, I do whatever it takes to win. I am not afraid to take a charge, get under the rim to grab that rebound or block that opponent's shot (which I love to do, and can do with my height). I pride myself on having excellent court vision. I can see where everyone is, predict where they're going and can make that pass to my open teammate to get that bucket. I can space the floor and get open to make that three-pointer, if needed. I am a competitor and I love the game of basketball. I've been playing since I was 8, and it has been a major focus in my life. My journey here hasn't been easy. I've been faced with many setbacks over the years. It came to a point where I had to make the choice to stop, or work my tail off to be the best I can be. Well, I chose to work harder than I ever have. And that hard work has paid off, because here I am, hoping to get the opportunity to make a college team even better. I have a story to tell, and a future that's bright. If you want to hear my story, I want to hear yours and how I can use my skills to help your team win. A NOTE ABOUT ACADEMICS: I am not happy with my GPA. My freshman year was the remote COVID year, and needless to say, my grades were not good. I rebounded my sophomore year with better grades, and had some personal problems my junior year, in which my grades slipped a bit. The GOOD NEWS: I am focused and reenergized. I am working extremely hard in the classroom and happy to say that my first semester senior year I have all As and two Bs. My GPA for the semester will be over a 3.0, and that will raise my cumulative GPA. I expect to graduate HS with a 2.5 or higher. I know I am capable of much better than a 2.3 and working very heard to show it.
